The cost of denture varies based on the health insurance you have, the quality of denture you select, the kind of procedure you require and the charges of your dentist. You will have to select a reputable dentist you can trust who would help you select the best dentures you can afford.  The dentist will suggest the type of denture you need based on the condition of your teeth and help sort out all your concerns. You might get full dentures, if most of your teeth are gone or need to remove. However if some of your teeth can be saved then your dentist will suggest partial dentures. What kind of denture would be right for me?


There are several types of dentures such as complete (conventional/immediate), overdunture, partial, fixed, fixed bridge, implant and implant supported fixed denture.  The type of denture you need depends on the conditions of your teeth and the also based on what you select. The types of dentures are as follows:
  • Full denture replaces all teeth and includes both upper and lower set of teeth.
  • Partial denture replaces the missing space between teeth.
  • Immediate dentures are put in place after removal of the natural teeth and can be partial or full dentures.
  • Over denture fit over the natural teeth that are left.
  • Conventional dentures are fully removable and are put once all your gums have healed after going through a procedure that might take months.
  • Denture can also be surgically fixed, these cannot be easily removed. 
  • Artificial teeth can be cemented to remaining natural teeth on either side, these are known as fixed bridge dentures.
  • Artificial tooth root that is surgically placed into the jawbone known as dental implants.
  • Overdentures can be attached to implants, these are called Implant-supported fixed dentures

Will dentures allow to eat all kinds of food?
Having dentures is just like having normal teeth but its takes time to adjust to anything new. Initially you will have to take things slow and start with eating soft foods but once you get used to the dentures you can eat anything you like. Similarly some people face difficulty in pronouncing certain words when they start using dentures but that’s nothing to worry about. Once you get used to the dentures you will feel confident in saying anything and your smile will return.

How to take care of dentures?
Dentures are just like your natural teeth. They need timely, regular and proper brushing. The general practice is to rinse them when you take them off in order to remove any food particles. It is recommended to clean your denture as well as you mouth (tongue, roof of mouth and any remaining teeth) before you put the dentures back in mouth. Make sure your dentures don’t get dry as they might develop cracks and decay.
